Aston Villa have won just one of their Championship matches so far this season.

Curtis Davies has told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast Show, which was broadcast on 15th September, that he believes Aston Villa will finish in the play offs, despite their poor start.
Villa have won just one Championship match to date, with Roberto Di Matteo’s side struggling to get over the line.
The Midlands club have thrown away nine points from winning positions, but Davies feels that his former side are on the right track.

“I’m surprised [at Villa’s start],” Davies said. “I thought with the signings they made, they had the right personnel. I thought they had the people in to create a force.
“Don’t get me wrong, it’s been two 90th minute equaliser that have cost them so it’s not all doom and gloom.
“I’d back them to come back and be strong. I still think they will get a play off place, at least.”
Villa were backed as one of the favourites to be promoted from the Championship this season, after a £50 million summer investment in their squad.

The Claret and Blues have badly disappointed, though, and the frustrations of their supporters were audible after their latest match.
Villa could only manage a 1-1 draw with Brentford in midweek, leading to masses of jeers being heard at full-time.
Di Matteo’s side’s next match comes against Ipswich Town at Portman Road on Saturday.
