Jeff Stelling has said on Sky Sports News (12:09pm, October 15, 2022) that Gabriel Martinelli has been a bargain signing for Arsenal.

The Soccer Saturday presenter made the comments about Martinelli while discussing the wonderful season that Arsenal are having at the moment.

Stelling used former Arsenal star Paul Merson’s terminology – “a cup of tea” to make his point about the transfer fee that Arsenal paid Martinelli.

As reported by Goal in July 2019, Arsenal paid £6 million in transfer fees to sign the Brazilian youngster.

Exciting talent

In our view, Gabriel Martinelli is one of the brightest young talents in world football and is a key figure at Arsenal.

The 21-year-old has established himself as a regular in the Gunners’ first team and is doing extremely well at the moment.

The Brazil international forward has scored four goals and given two assists in nine Premier League games for the Gunners so far this season.

Martinelli has also made two starts and one substitute appearance in the UEFA Europa League for Arsenal so far this campaign.

For Arsenal to have a successful season in the Premier League and in the Europa League, we think that Martinelli will have to be on top form throughout.
