Ouasim Bouy has returned to Leeds United from his loan at Cultural Leonesa.
Spanish side Cultural Leonesa have confirmed on their official website that loanee Ouasim Bouy is returning to parent club Leeds United.
Bouy, 24, had been on the books with Juventus, but after loan spells with Brescia, Hamburg, Panathinaikos, PEC Zwolle and Palermo, he moved on to Leeds over the summer.
A former Ajax youth talent, Bouy was immediately sent out on loan, as Leeds farmed him out to feeder club Cultural Leonesa in Spain’s second tier.
Bouy has struggled for playing time this season though, playing just four times in all competitions, and his time with Cultural Leonesa has come to an end.
The Spanish side have confirmed on their official website that Bouy’s loan deal has been terminated, and he will be returning to Leeds with immediate effect.
Bouy now returns to feature in Thomas Christiansen’s Leeds side, though whether he will get near the first team – having struggled in Spain – remains to be seen.
When Leeds signed Bouy over the summer, Director of Football Victor Orta told the club’s official website that he was delighted to sign Bouy, but he needed playing time in order to reach the level Leeds were looking for.
His loan move to Spain was supposed to give him that, but instead he returns to Leeds early, and may face a battle to feature under Christiansen – or could be loaned out elsewhere.
