Jamie O’Hara has said on talkSPORT that he does not think that Antonio Conte will take charge of Tottenham Hotspur.

The former Tottenham midfielder, who now works as a pundit for talkSPORT, does not see Conte leaving Inter Milan for Spurs this summer.

A report in Corriere dello Sport this week claimed that Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy wants to appoint the former Chelsea boss as their new manager.

It was reported that Spurs have already met with the 51-year-old about succeeding Jose Mourinho and have even discussed how to improve the current squad, as covered by HITC Sport.

O’Hara said on talkSPORT: “I think if Tottenham got Antonio Conte, they’d be able to keep Harry Kane – he’s a brilliant manager.

“He won the Premier League title with Chelsea and yes he got the sack, but that’s what Chelsea do. It’s their culture. He’s gone to Inter Milan and he’s won the league there, too. He’s a top manager.”

The pundit added: “I think we should be going for Antonio Conte or Brendan Rodgers, but Spurs are living in cuckoo land at the moment… we’re pretenders! We haven’t won anything!

“We’re a top-ten football club in the world, financially, but we haven’t actually won anything! How have we pulled that off?!

“So we have to be realistic right now, and I think being realistic is getting a Scott Parker or a Graham Potter and seeing where that takes us. Personally, I would like Antonio Conte, but I can’t see it happening.”

Inter have just won Serie A and are planning to become a force in European football again.

Conte has done an exceptional job at Inter, and there is no surprise that Levy reportedly wants him.

The Italian is one of the best tacticians around. The 51-year-old won Serie A thrice with Juventus, the Premier League and the FA Cup once each other Chelsea, and also led Inter to the final of the Europa League in 2019-20.

Tottenham are a massive club, and if Levy is able to convince Conte that he will be given time and money to spend, then the Italian could well make the switch.

After all, Levy was able to bring in another blockbuster manager in Jose Mourinho following the departure of Mauricio Pochettino.
