The Crystal Palace hitman could be a useful addition to the West Ham United squad this month.
Hammers boss David Moyes will be determined to bolster his ranks at the London Stadium this month, as he looks to guide his side to a top 10 finish in the Premier League table this season.
West Ham currently occupy 11th spot in the table, but they are only five points clear of the drop zone, and an injection of quality will be of paramount importance to their hopes of enjoying a successful campaign.
One particular area where the Scot will be looking to improve is his centre-forward department, especially if Andy Carroll leaves this month, with the Guardian claiming that Chelsea are interested in signing him the Hammers forward.
With this in mind, West Ham should consider making a move for Eagles striker Christian Benteke, who could be available this month with Roy Hodgson looking to freshen up his forward line.
The 27-year-old would be the ideal replacement for Carroll.
He is physically strong, powerful in the air, and is at his best when playing with his back to goal and bringing his teammates into play.
Benteke has proven goalscoring pedigree in the Premier League, having scored 67 goals during spells with Aston Villa, Liverpool and Palace.
Whether the Eagles would sell one of their prized assets to a relegation rival is debatable, but West Ham should test their resolve nevertheless.
