Benteke bagged a hat trick in his country’s 6-0 win over Gibraltar in World Cup qualifiers.
Crystal Palace striker Christian Benteke wants to continue his goal scoring form when he heads back to his club after scoring a hat trick for Belgium this week, according to comments given to Belgian network RTBF.
It took just seven seconds for the former Liverpool player to find the net for Belgium in the 6-0 drubbing of Gibraltar – the fastest goal in World Cup qualifying history.

The 25-year-old went on to score in the 43rd and 56th minute and was joined on the score sheet by Alex Witsel, Dries Mertens and Eden Hazard.
After the match, Benteke told Belgian network RTBF: “The coach told us to press high as soon as the game kicked off.
“Their defender did not anticipate the back pass well and I got ahead of him and made for the goal.”

The win put Belgium at the top of Group H on goal difference, ahead of Greece, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Estonia, Cyprus and Gibraltar.
Benteke, who was on the bench for much of Belgium’s Euros campaign, was starting to show some goal-scoring ability at Palace ahead of the international break.
The striker, who was bought from Liverpool in the summer, scored in two consecutive games against Sunderland and Everton, bringing his total league tally to three, the club’s top scorer.
Crystal Palace are currently in eighth place in the Premier League with four wins from seven and will return after the break to host West Ham United where Benteke hopes to continue his international form.
He added: “The last few weeks I feel good and that you see on the field. I want to hold this form at my club.”
