West Bromwich Albion should seriously consider a move for the Crystal Palace man.

Baggies boss Tony Pulis is under intense pressure to improve his squad at the Hawthorns further still this summer, and he will be expected to guide his side to another top-10 finish in the Premier League table this term.

The problem for West Brom is that they are competing in a ludicrously inflated transfer market, and with the inferior funds available to Pulis in comparison with the rest of the division, it will be incredibly difficult for him to find both quality and value for money.

One particular area where the Baggies chief must address as a matter of priority is his attacking department, after their impotent performances last term prevented them from finishing higher in the league table.

And with this in mind, West Brom should consider making a move for Eagles winger Andros Townsend, whose future at Selhurst Park remains uncertain.

The pacey 26-year-old joined the south London outfit from Newcastle United last summer, for a fee believed to be in the region of £13 million, but has struggled to emulate the form that he showcased earlier on in his career.

The former Tottenham star still has a lot to offer though, and would surely prove to be a fantastic asset to Pulis’ side, what with his direct style of play, and excellent ability to deliver perfectly flighted crosses into the box.

Townsend can play anywhere long the front-line, but is most effective when deployed in the right wing position, and would provide real competition for the likes of Nacer Chadli and Matt Phillips in the wide attacking areas.

Whether Palace will be willing to sell the England international remains to be seen, but the Baggies should not hesitate to make a move for him nevertheless.
