Crystal Palace are now closing in on the signing of Haji Wright from Antalyaspor as Patrick Vieira aims to improve his attack at Selhurst Park.
What’s the story?
Well, the south Londoners have agreed a deal to sign the American – according to Yakup Çınar.
The journalist – who writes for Turkish news outlet Fanatik – believes Crystal Palace will be signing Wright for a fee in the region of €7m – €8m (£6m – £7m) after his excellent form in the Süper Lig.
If Çınar is to be trusted, then the United States international should soon head to SE25 for a medical with the Eagles.
Wright has scored ten goals in 16 Süper Lig appearances for Antalyaspor so far this season, with his brilliant form earning him a spot in Gregg Berhalter’s 26-man squad for the World Cup.
The 24-year-old scored one goal for the United States in Qatar, which came against the Netherlands in a 3-1 defeat at the Round of 16 stage.

Wright’s agent – Mithat Halis – confirmed in December that Crystal Palace want to sign his client, with Atalanta and Fenerbahçe also interested.
Halis told Turkish news outlet Lider Gazete: “It is true that Atalanta from Italy and Crystal Palace from England want Haji Wright. His name is also mentioned with Fenerbahçe, but I don’t see the possibility of going to another team in Turkey high.”
Crystal Palace do not need Haji Wright
In our view, Vieira must strengthen his midfield department before signing another striker.
Cheick Doucoure has been doing most of the midfield work this season by himself as Jeffrey Schlupp struggles and Conor Gallagher returned to Chelsea, while the likes of Luka Milivojevic and Will Hughes are not fancied.
Vieira has some strong striking options in Odsonne Edouard, Jean-Philippe Mateta and Wilfried Zaha, so it wouldn’t make sense to spend what little transfer funds the Frenchman has on a new frontman.
Nevertheless, be sure to keep an eye on the situation, as plenty of Turkish media outlets seem to think Wright is joining Crystal Palace.
