HITC Sport understands that Crystal Palace striker Freddie Ladapo is heading out on loan until January – heading to League One club Oldham Athletic.

The 23-year-old’s move to Oldham is done and is pending announcement. He will be hoping to play regular football at Boundary park after having to bide his time at Selhurst Park.

The Romford-born forward joined Palace from non-league Margate in March – after scoring a hat-trick for the club’s under-21s during a trial match against Watford.

He had been lethal at Margate and Palace, who have a good history of bringing in non-league hits, decided to hand him a chance.

But the striker is yet to play a competitive game for Palace and will be hoping to catch the eye for Oldham.

He has previously spent time with Colchester United and Kidderminster Harriers.

Oldham are currently 13th in the League One table and are looking to add some firepower to their squad – with Billy McKay, Lee Erwin and Darius Osei currently struggling to score goals.

Palace will no doubt be hoping that this loan deal will help Ladapo come good at the club.
