The Premier League survival race will go down to the final game of the season after both Newcastle United and Hull City lost today, but the tigers have a real task on their hands considering they are taking on Manchester United on the final day of the season.

One team who no longer have to worry about such problems is Leicester City.

It looked like The Foxes were doomed not long ago. However, Nigel Pearson has led them on a fantastic turnaround. They have won seven of their last nine games and a 0-0 draw with Sunderland, who are not yet mathematically safe, secured their Premier League status for another term.

One man clearly pleased to see Leicester stay up was Crystal Palace striker Kwesi Appiah. The Ghanaian, who finished the season on loan with Reading, is an international team-mate of Leicester full-back Jeffrey Schlupp.

So he sent this Tweet after the game.

Of course Palace also struggled in the Premier League this season. If Neil Warnock was still in charge who knows? Perhaps Palace would have been fighting relegation going in to the final day.

But it has transpired that the two Ghanaian internationals will still be playing for Premier League teams next season.
