Everton have been said to want to sign Christian Benteke from Crystal Palace in the January transfer window.

Christian Benteke’s penalty greed in Crystal Palace’s last match could play right into Everton’s hands, ahead of the January transfer window.
Benteke snatched a last minute penalty off usual taker Luka Milivojevic, but he fluffed his lines from 12 yards.
The powerful striker saw his spot kicked saved by Bournemouth stopper Asmir Begovic, as Palace missed the chance to pick up a vital three points.
Eagles fans have understandably been left fuming with Benteke’s actions, and even Roy Hodgson criticised the forward after the match.

Palace may now be more willing to offload Benteke, and that could be great news for Everton.
Everton have struggled to find a number nine so far this season, with most their striking options failing to score with any frequency.

Allardyce knows Benteke well, after working with the Belgian international at Selhurst Park, during his time in charge.
Everton would surely have been expecting Palace to put up a big fight, if they did go in for Benteke in January initially, as Hodgson’s side are locked in a relegation battle.
However, Benteke’s attitude has now come into question and Palace may just be tempted to offload the 27-year-old, which could make a deal possible for Everton.
