Wilfried Zaha is set to be offered a mammoth contract at Crystal Palace, making him the highest paid player at the club.
Crystal Palace are readying an improved contract offer for star forward Wilfried Zaha, amid reports of offers from big clubs in the Premier League, including Manchester City, Liverpool and Tottenham, according to The Mirror.
The 25-year-old winger has really emerged as the Eagles’ main man this term, inspiring his side to a relatively comfortable Premier League survival with scintillating performances on a regular basis – bagging nine goals and three assists in the competition.
And it now seems as though the Ivorian could be rewarded with a lucrative new deal, which Palace hope will be enough to deter the player from leaving Selhurst Park this summer.
The new contract would reportedly trump Christian Benteke’s club-record wage of £120,000-a-week, according to The Mirror, although the exact figure has yet to revealed. Zaha is currently on £100,000-a-week.
The former Manchester United winger has recently reiterated his desire to stay at the club though, claiming he “has no plans on leaving” anytime soon, in quotes on the official club website.
“I’m enjoying my football, you can see how much i’m enjoying it. This is my home and there’s no reason for me to leave,” Zaha said.
It looks as though Crystal Palace will remain defiant in their stance on the winger, as Roy Hodgson aims to build the squad around him ahead of the next Premier League campaign.
