As we enter the beginning of August, few clubs in the Premier League have enjoyed a better transfer window than Crystal Palace.

The Eagles have splashed out nearly £50m on four quality players.

Michael Olise was signed for £8m, Marc Guehi for £20m, Conor Gallagher on a season-long loan, while Joachim Andersen arrived for an initial £15m.

Next in line could be a player who’s been compared to one of Europe’s best.

Reiss Nelson to Crystal Palace?

According to James Benge of CBS Sports, the Eagles are leading the race to sign Reiss Nelson from Arsenal.

Patrick Vieira is seemingly using his contacts at the Emirates Stadium to arrange a deal for the 21-year-old, who is also wanted by Hertha Berlin.

Nelson only has one year remaining on his contract. As Benge claims, Arsenal have offered him an extension, but nothing has been agreed yet.

If Crystal Palace can get the £15,000-a-week winger to Selhurst Park, they’ll have an extremely entertaining player on their hands.

Reiss Nelson has been compared to Neymar

When you mention the word entertainment in football, Neymar is a player who immediately springs to mind.

In that respect, it’s hugely encouraging for Crystal Palace that Nelson has been compared to the Brazilian superstar.

It was Martin Keown who made the bold claim.

Speaking on BT Sport, he said that Nelson was showing touches you’d associate with Neymar after the winger delivered a Man of the Match display against BATE Borisov in the Europa League.

If Vieira can get Nelson in the same side as Wilfried Zaha, Eberechi Eze and Olise, the Eagles could become one of the most exciting teams in the Premier League next season.

Keep a close eye on this saga, with just a few weeks until the deadline.
