Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi continued his development by shackling Harry Kane in a 3-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.

The Eagles were rampant in the second half, especially after Japhet Tanganga had been sent off for Tottenham.

Wilfried Zaha opened the scoring with a penalty before Odsonne Edouard took centre stage as a substitute.

Edouard came on for his debut and scored twice, securing a 3-0 win for Patrick Vieira’s side.

Former Chelsea defender Guehi shackles Tottenham

When Chelsea sold defender Guehi to Palace this summer, some thought they would end up regretting it.

Guehi starred on loan at Swansea City last season, but much like fellow youth product Fikayo Tomori, he had to leave permanently for first-team action.

Guehi has immediately started in the heart of Palace’s defence. Alongside fellow new signing Joachim Andersen, the 21-year-old helped deal with Kane.

Kane didn’t have a touch inside the Palace box. The Tottenham hero didn’t have a shot in a dismal performance, and both Guehi and Anderson played a role in that.

Palace fans rave about Guehi display

Palace fans unsurprisingly loved Guehi’s performance, taking to Twitter to claim that he is ‘mustard’ and ‘different class’.

Others believe that Guehi is going straight to the top, rejuvenating Palace’s back line having left Chelsea.

Some even suggested that Guehi had Kane in his back pocket throughout in a superb performance.
