Crystal Palace co-owner John Textor is hoping to bring Palmeiras striker Kevin Macedo to the Premier League but the Eagles must stump up an offer in excess of £8.5 million.
Fred, Malcom, Cris and Douglas; meet Kevin.
The latest Brazilian talent who who sounds more like a distant family uncle than a purveyor of jogo bonito, Kevin Macedo is a 20-year-old forward currently plying his trade for a Palmeiras side who claimed the country’s domestic crown in 2022.
While not quite as highly-regarded as the Real Madrid-bound Endrick, Kevin is still turning plenty of heads at the Allianz Parque. He scored five goals in just eight games in January’s Copa Sao Paulo youth tournament.

Form that caught the eye of one John Textor.
The Crystal Palace co-owner also has a controlling stake in Brazilian outfit Botafogo. He therefore boasts a handsome knowledge of the next generation of Samba starlets ready to explode onto the scene.
Crystal Palace could land Palmeiras striker Kevin Macedo
“John Textor, who owns Botafogo, recently asked Palmeiras about signing Kevin,” reporter Jorge Nicola explains, via his YouTube channel.
“Textor wanted to sign him for Crystal Palace. This relevant information was passed onto me by people involved in the negotiation. Textor suggested an offer of 9 million euros.”
Of, if you like, £7.7 million.
“Palmeiras replied that they had already turned down an offer of 10 million euros,” Nicola adds. “It is assumed this team (who made the bid) was Shakhtar Dontesk.”
“Palmeiras are willing to negotiate as long as they receive an offer of over 10 million euros.”
Kevin is not the first talented young Brazilian linked with a move to Selhurst Park since Textor purchased 40 per cent of Crystal Palace back in 2021.
Botafogo’s own Matheus Nascimento held talks with the Eagles last year, while Flamengo’s £17 million-rated whizzkid Matheus Franca is reportedly the number one option to replace Wilfried Zaha should the Palace legend opt against signing a new deal (The Athletic).
“Franca is an attacking midfielder and there is a real talent there,” South American expert Tim Vickery tells Sky Sports. “He’s strong on the ball and he’s got a lovely dip of the shoulder.
“It’s hard for Matheus Franca to get a game when (Flamengo are) at full strength. So, I think Flamengo would be open to selling him. But they want money.”
