HITC understands that Crystal Palace are hoping to tie down one of their key players to a new contract this summer.

Under new manager Oliver Glasner, Crystal Palace played very exciting and vibrant football under the Austrian with players who struggled under Roy Hodgson, excelling under the former Eintracht Frankfurt manager.

However, this progression has naturally led to some of the Eagles’ key players being linked with a move away from Selhurst Park this summer.

One of these players is former Chelsea defender Marc Guehi, who has been superb for the South London club but Palace are hoping to tie the defender down to a new contract.

Significant interest in Guehi

Palace are aware of interest that has emerged in Guehi, who has started the European Championships with England next to John Stones.

Guehi was superb for England in the Three Lions’ opening game of the tournament against Serbia and he has been linked with a host of top Premier League clubs.

The English defender is of interest to a number of clubs with Liverpool and Manchester United both actively keeping tabs on his situation, whilst former club Chelsea have always kept a watching brief on his progress.

Arsenal and Newcastle United are also understood to have an interest in the English defender and a move away from the club could be on the cards.

Guehi has two-years left on his current deal and Palace hope the promise of a major pay rise and a release clause could persuade him to re-sign.

Palace facing fight to keep three key players this summer

Guehi isn’t the only player that Palace could well be losing this summer as Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise have both been subject of transfer speculation.

Both Eze and Olise are understood to have release clauses in their contracts worth upwards of £60 million.

For Olise, Chelsea are understood to have approached Crystal Palace over a deal for Olise and would be open to a swap deal to get the signing over the line.

As for Guehi, if the defender agitates for a move away this summer, Palace are understood to want a minimum of £60 million for the 23-year-old.
