Crystal Palace and Newcastle have now been handed a major boost in their hopes of bringing Sacha Boey to the Premier League.
What’s the story?
Well – according to Turkish Football – Newcastle are keen to sign the Frenchman.
Elsewhere, it was Foot Mercato in France who revealed that Crystal Palace are also interested in Boey, and the French news outlet are the ones who have provided today’s update.
It is said that the 22-year-old will shortly sign a new contract at Galatasaray, which initially seems like bad news for the Magpies and the south Londoners.
However, Boey’s representatives are clearly focused on ensuring their client has a way out of Galatasaray, as a release clause worth €14m (£12m) is set to be included in the new contract.

That represents a bargain for both Crystal Palace and Newcastle.
Boey has received admiring glances from the Premier League after impressing in his 20 Süper Lig appearances for Galatasaray this season, in which he has provided two assists.
Crystal Palace need Boey more than Newcastle
In our view, Boey should choose to join Patrick Vieira in SE25 instead of teaming up with Eddie Howe on Tyneside, as he would have a much better chance of regular game time at Selhurst Park.
Newcastle already have a standout right-back in Kieran Trippier, who is one of the best in the Premier League.
However, Crystal Palace have two very poor options in that department in the form of Joel Ward and Nathaniel Clyne.
The experienced duo – aged 33 and 31 respectively – are way beyond their best, and are also hugely reluctant to push forward on the overlap, which affects Crystal Palace’s attacking play tremendously.
As WhoScored shows, the Eagles have only scored nine goals from open play in the Premier League this season, the least of any side.
Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as Boey’s new £12m release clause represents a very tempting opportunity.
