Crystal Palace-linked Ben Davies say that he is “nervous” about pre-season training with Tottenham Hotspur.
Tottenham Hotspur defender Ben Davies has revealed on the club’s official website that he is “nervous” about pre-season training.
The 22-year-old defender joined Spurs from Premier League rivals Swansea City in the summer of 2014 and has a contract until June 2019, according to Transfermarkt.co.uk.
The Wales international left-back’s 2014-15 season ended early, as he suffered a shoulder injury during the Premier League game against Southampton at St. Mary’s Stadium.
Davies is looking forward to the 2015-16 campaign, but he admits that he is “nervous”.
“Nervous,” the youngster told Tottenham’s official website when asked about his thoughts on pre-season.
“We always know how hard it will be but I’ve got an early pre-season this year because of the work I’m doing to recover, so it’s not really the same this time for me!”
During the 2014-15 season, Davies made 14 appearances in the Premier League, creating high chances in the process.
The youngster had a pass accuracy of 80%, and won 19 headers, three dribbles and 17 tackles.
Interestingly, Davies has been linked with a move away from White Hart Lane this summer.
According to The Daily Mail, London outfit Crystal Palace are considering a loan loan for the Tottenham youngster.
