HITC Sport understands both players are holding talks with Palace
Crystal Palace are looking to bolster their defence with the signings of former Premier League stars Christopher Samba and Patrice Evra, HITC Sport understands.
32-year-old Samba is currently playing his football in Greece with Panathinaikos, but he made it clear last last year that he wanted to leave the club after struggling with injury.
Now Samba, who was previously in England with Blackburn Rovers and Queens Park Rangers, is aiming to return to the UK for the first time since 2013.
Patrice Evra of Juventus
HITC Sport understands that he is now in talks with Palace about linking up with Sam Allardyce’s outfit, although there is also believed to be interest from West Bromwich Albion and West Ham United – but The Eagles are in pole position to land him.
And Samba could be joined by Evra at Selhurst Park, who is also looking to move back to the Premier League.
Evra is currently with Juventus, but they have made it clear that the 35-year-old full-back can leave Turin, and he has now entered talks with Palace.
HITC Sport understands that Allardyce sees the experienced duo as perfect additions to his squad, which is battling to stay in the top-flight.
