Crystal Palace have now signed Galatasaray defender Victor Nelsson – a player who Newcastle wanted to buy in 2022.
What’s the story?
Well – according to Ertem Şener – the south Londoners have now wrapped up a deal for the Denmark international, and he will move to Selhurst Park at the end of the season.
It comes after Nelsson received interest from the Premier League back in 2022 – Takvim in Turkey even claimed that Newcastle submitted a £12.5m bid as Aston Villa also monitored the situation.
Now – however – it seems as if Crystal Palace have won the race.
Şener – who boasts over 830,000 followers on Twitter – has made the pretty straightforward claim of revealing that Nelson has signed for the Eagles, with no other information included.
There is no information about how much Crystal Palace have paid for the 24-year-old.
Şener has also failed to provide any details about contract length regarding the centre-back’s move to England.
Nevertheless – if it is true – this is exciting news for Crystal Palace.
Nelsson has made 26 appearances in all competitions for Galatasaray this season, scoring one goal while also providing one assist as the Turkish giants sit nine points clear at the top of the Süper Lig.
Crystal Palace finally sign Victor Nelsson
Crystal Palace have supposedly been interested in Nelson for a while now.
The Sun claimed that Patrick Vieira was keen on the Dane during his first summer in charge back in 2021.

In that story, it was said that Nelsson wanted a move to the Premier League, before Galatasaray eventually managed to convince him to join them – the south Londoners have since signed Marc Guehi, another Denmark international in Joachim Andersen and Chris Richards to bolster their defensive options.
Despite that, it seems Crystal Palace have maintained their interest in the Hornbæk-born defender, with a deal finally coming to fruition if Şener is to be trusted.
