Crystal Palace suffered a disappointing defeat and James Tomkins endured a miserable night.

Crystal Palace fans have taken to Twitter to slam James Tomkins’ display in the 3-1 defeat to Brighton on Tuesday to leave Roy Hodgson’s men 15th in the Premier League table.
The Eagles went into the game off the back of an emphatic win against Burnley at the weekend, but they were blown away before the break at the Amex Stadium.
Glenn Murray scored from the spot after 24 minutes. And while Shane Duffy was then sent off for the home side, Leon Balogun doubled their lead shortly after.
The game was put to bed before half-time as Florin Andone made it 3-0 to the Seagulls. Luka Milivojevic made the scoreline a little more respectable in the final moments as he scored Palace’s only goal with a penalty.

Tomkins has been impressive for Hodgson’s side this season, but there was no doubt amongst the supporters that the 29-year-old had an off night – as did many of his teammates.
He made an error for the third goal after seemingly getting the better of Andone initially. And several of the fans on social media believe that he was off the pace for most of the game – which may please his former club West Ham who host Palace at the London Stadium this weekend.

Here is what some of the supporters made of Tomkins’ performance…
