Connor Wickham is struggling for playing time at Crystal Palace at the moment, and there is little surprise that the former Ipswich Town attacker has been linked with Sunderland and Middlesbrough.

According to TEAMtalk, Middlesbrough in the Championship and League One club Sunderland are interested in signing the 25-year-old from Premier League outfit Palace in the January transfer window.

The former England Under-21 international – who can operate as a striker or as a winger – came on as a late substitute against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League on Wednesday evening.

The Eagles won the match at the Molineux Stadium 2-0, and Wickham has taken to Twitter to revel in the victory.

The former Sunderland man is also looking forward to Palace’s FA Cup third-round tie against Grimsby Town at Selhurst Park on Saturday afternoon.

Some Palace fans have responded to the message from Wickham on Twitter, and their comments suggest that they want the attacker to start on Saturday afternoon and rate him highly.
