Crystal Palace could be without Wilfried Zaha in early 2017.

Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha has pledged his international future to Ivory Coast, after becoming fed up with a lack of chances with England, The BBC report.

Zaha, 24, has made two friendly appearances for the Three Lions, but is still available to play competitively for the Ivory Coast.

The winger has been in impressive form this season, netting two goals and providing five assists.

His decision is a potential blow for Crystal Palace as he could be called into the Elephants’ squad for the upcoming African Cup of Nations tournament.

With Ivory Coast among the favourites for the tournament, Zaha could miss more than a month of action for Palace.

This is the last thing Palace need considering their woeful league form, with the Eagles among the bottom clubs in the Premier League and currently in the midst of a losing streak.

Despite this, there is plenty of goodwill towards the 24-year-old from Crystal Palace fans, who sympathise with his frustration at being continually overlooked for the Three Lions.
