Crystal Palace beat West Bromwich Albion 3-0 on Tuesday night.

Crystal Palace are into the next round of the Carabao Cup after beating Championship side West Bromwich Albion 3-0 at The Hawthorns on Tuesday night.
Roy Hodgson’s side suffered disappointment on Saturday as they could only draw 0-0 at home to Newcastle United, and a response was wanted even with a host of changes against West Brom.
Vicente Guaita, Martin Kelly, Joel Ward, Max Meyer and Alexander Sorloth were among the players to come in for the Eagles, and they played their part in a strong performance.
Palace took an early lead through Andros Townsend, and the second goal took another 70 minutes arrive as Patrick van Aanholt made it 2-0 with less than quarter of an hour to play.
Townsend then added his second with a fine goal, handing Palace a 3-0 win and a route into the fourth round of the competition ahead of Monday’s trip to Bournemouth.
The attention will quickly turn back to the Premier League and that trip to Bournemouth, and Palace fans are desperate to see midfielder Meyer make his first league start in that fixture.

The German was a major signing from Schalke this summer, but has barely been seen, playing just 64 minutes of Premier League action, and his only two starts have come in the cup.
After his display on Tuesday night, Palace fans raved about Meyer, suggesting that he was ‘class’ against West Brom and was so efficient in possession, adding that it’s clear to see just how good he is whilst begging Hodgson to start him in the Premier League for the first time at Bournemouth.
