The 30-year-old central midfielder – who has been on the books of the Eagles since the summer of 2014 when he joined from Wigan Athletic for a transfer fee reported by The London Evening Standard to be worth £7 million – started the match and played for 63 minutes, as the Eagles lost 1-0.
