Arsenal aren’t expected to be massively busy on transfer deadline day, but there could be one new face added today.
The Gunners have added goalkeeper Mat Ryan and playmaker Martin Odegaard on loan to bolster key areas of Mikel Arteta’s squad.
However, Arsenal may still need to bring in another left back having allowed Sead Kolasinac to rejoin Schalke earlier this month.
Kieran Tierney is out injured at the moment, whilst Cedric isn’t a natural fit at left back despite some encouraging performances of late.
A recognised left back with Premier League experience could be ideal for Arsenal, and The Mirror claim that the Gunners fancy Patrick van Aanholt.
The Dutchman’s Crystal Palace contract runs out this summer, meaning Arsenal may be able to secure a deadline day bargain.
Van Aanholt, 30, is dangerous going forward but a little shaky defensively, and Palace fans have been taking to Twitter to react to the rumour.
Some believe that the rumour is ‘hilarious’, urging Palace to sell as they can’t believe Arsenal even want him.
Others are desperate for Van Aanholt to stay, especially having impressed against Wolves over the weekend, and would be ‘gutted’ to see him leave today.
