Had he stayed on, it might not have been a 2-1 defeat at all. Alan Pardew was clearly worried Cabaye’s lack of fitness would cost the Eagles. Yet taking him off didn’t work out too well in that regard anyway, did it?

Yes the Reds were lucky to have been gifted the ball for the first goal – and won thanks to a penalty Palace fans don’t want to accept.
But taking Cabaye off was Pardew’s own decision – one many feel cost Crystal Palace big time against Liverpool.
