This week, Sunderland striker Josh Maja has been reported to be on the verge of a move to Bordeaux for a deal that could rise to £3.5million, according to Sky Sports News.
The 20-year-old, who is out of contract at the Stadium of Light this summer, is the Black Cats’ leading goalscorer, having netted 15 times in League One so far this season.
Although a move from the third tier to the top flight may seem a bit of a leap, the fact Maja is being linked with a Ligue 1 club suggests there is something special about him.
