Crystal Palace took one step closer to Premier League safety as they fought back from behind to secure a 2-2 draw with Leicester City at Selhurst Park.
Leicester took the lead early on when Robert Huth made full use of lax defending and scored with a finely timed header.
Many thought that Craig Shakespeare would rest some of his key players before Tuesday’s Champions League return leg against Atletico Madrid, before his decision to play them was vindicated when Riyad Mahrez and Jamie Vardy combined for the second goal after the break.
Back to walls, the fightback began. Yohan Cabaye pulled one back before Christian Benteke completed the comeback in the 70th minute.
Benteke, 26, may have struggled at Liverpool, but he has proved at Palace that he is a good striker who has the ability to win matches for his side.
The Belgian has scored 12 Premier League goals this season, and 14 overall for the club. Crystal Palace fans took to Twitter to express their opinion on the striker’s performance.
