Crystal Palace have suffered a ‘blow’ ahead of this weekend with Christian Benteke at risk of missing out, but fans are not too unhappy about it.
Benteke has scored only two goals in 26 Premier League games this season, with his last strike coming in January.
Last weekend against Liverpool he was guilty of missing two big chances, which proved costly as Palace ended up slipping to a late 2-1 defeat.
Benteke could still make the game against Bournemouth, but Palace will be considering alternatives.
Palace are fighting for their lives at the foot of the table, they are in 17th and sit just two points above the relegation zone with Southampton in 18th.
Benteke’s woeful performances have left fans quite enthusiastic about alternatives, even if Palace lack a proven alternative.
It does not appear supporters will anxiously be waiting on updates over the striker’s fitness.
