It was the former Aston Villa man’s Premier League debut for the Eagles following his move from Liverpool earlier this month on a four-year contract.

According to BBC Sport, Palace had to pay the Merseyside outfit a transfer fee of £27 million, which could rise by a further £5m.

Benteke did not score against Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon, but the 25-year-old striker created two chances.

Over the course of the 90 minutes at Selhurst Park, hosts Palace had 59% of the possession, took 24 shots of which five were on target, and earned 10 corners, according to BBC Sport.
