Crystal Palace were beaten 1-0 by West Ham, with the Belgian missing from the spot.

Crystal Palace’s good run of form came to an end on Saturday thanks to a 1-0 defeat to West Ham, but they could have taken so much more from the game.
Palace went into the game as the favourites, with West Ham enduring a stuttering start to the season which left them in the bottom three.

However, it was the Hammers who took the lead, with Manuel Lanzini finding the net after a neat cross from the returning Aaron Cresswell.
Alan Pardew’s side were gifted a chance to draw level before half time when Christian Benteke was brought down in the box by Angelo Ogbonna. The Belgian stepped up to take the penalty, but skewed it high and wide.
West Ham played the final 15 minutes with 10 men when Cresswell was given a second yellow and sent for an early bath, but Palace could not make the extra man count, with Slaven Bilic’s side escaping the bottom three with victory.

Defeat does nothing to Palace’s league position as they remain in eighth, but they fans will be dwelling on Benteke’s missed penalty all week.
The Eagles supporters have reacted on Twitter to the defeat and the Belgian’s failure from 12 yards.
