Crystal Palace secured a 2-0 victory against Blackpool last night in the EFL cup.
Alan Pardew’s side secured a comfortable win against League Two Blackpool in the EFL Cup second round.
After a disappointing start to the season, Pardrew will be happy with his team’s performance. The manager made seven changes to the side beaten by Tottenham Hotspur at the weekend. Record signing Christian Benteke made his debut and fans were impressed with his performance.
Centre-back Scott Dann scored the opener after Andros Townsend’s cross fell in the box. Connor Wickham replaced Benteke at half-time, he also got the second two minutes into the second half.
Benteke put in a good first-half performance, the Belgium international had a header saved in the second minute and also hit the ball into the side netting after a McArthur shot.

League Two side Blackpool didn’t create many problems for Palace. Their best effort came from a strike by Jim McAlister, which was cleared off the line by James McArthur.
Goalkeeper Steve Mandanda and centre-back James Tomkins also made their first starts for Palace. The win against Blackpool was the team’s first victory of the season after losing their opening two league games.
Palace will be hoping to secure their first Premier League win of the season on Saturday when Bournemouth travel to Selhurst Park.
