The Crystal Palace winger could return to former club Newcastle United.
According to a recent report from the Daily Mail, Crystal Palace have held talks with Newcastle United regarding the potential transfer of winger Andros Townsend.
The England international was previously on the books at St. James’ Park but moved to the Eagles following Newcastle’s relegation at the end of last season.
However, it is now being reported that Townsend could return to the Magpies, with manager Rafa Benitez keen to add another winger to his already impressive squad.
If Townsend does move to Newcastle this month it would be another major coup for a side that has impressed in the Championship and is looking good for an immediate return to the top flight.
Palace recently added Jeffrey Schlupp to their side and Townsend could be deemed surplus to requirements at Selhurst Park as a result, leaving Newcastle to make their move.
