The Rangers manager, Steven Gerrard, has reunited with his former teammate at Ibrox.

Jermain Defoe has told Sky Sports he was swayed to join Rangers by Steven Gerrard despite having interest from other clubs, including Crystal Palace.
Defoe has signed an 18-month contract at Ibrox, where he will hope to deliver title number 55 for Rangers after seven seasons without one.
In doing so, he sacrificed staying in the Premier League with Crystal Palace, whose interest he claimed ‘had been lingering for years’.
And having seen just one of their strikers score a league goal all season, Palace perhaps could have done with the 36-year-old’s predatory instincts in the second half of the campaign.
But what do their fans make of the Eagles’ apparent near-miss?
This is what they’re saying about Rangers’ new recruit on Twitter…
Rangers are currently level with Celtic at the top of the Scottish Premiership standings, although it is the Bhoys who lead the title race on goal difference despite their derby defeat last time out.
Crystal Palace, meanwhile, are closer to the bottom of the table than they are the top, although a run of three wins and a draw from their last five outings recently saw Roy Hodgson’s side climb to 14th position.

Would Rangers’ new signing have been a good addition for Palace?
