Alexander Sorloth was very much on the fringes of things at Crystal Palace last term, but fans are calling for him to be given a bigger role next season.

Alexander Sorloth arrived at Crystal Palace with huge expectations following a sensational season with Danish champions FC Midtjylland, but his contribution in his debut season was minimal, with manager Roy Hodgson often favouring record-signing Christian Benteke.
Throughout the season fans were calling for the Norwegian international to be given a chance to spearhead the attack, but Benteke remained the first-team linchpin – despite scoring a meagre three domestic goals.

Former Wolves striker Bakary Sako was used by Crystal Palace as the impact forward off the bench during the run-in, meaning Sorloth was limited to just four appearances in his debut season in England.
Sorloth stated his claim on Saturday evening though, netting a late winner for Norway in their friendly against Iceland (3-2), and Crystal Palace fans took to Twitter to commend the striker and to voice their frustrations at his lack of game-time last season:
Plenty of Crystal Palace fans seemingly want to see Benteke take a backseat after his shortcomings last season, with 22-year-old Alexander Sorloth given a real opportunity to show what he can do.
