The Leicester City striker was a rumoured Crystal Palace target in January.

Crystal Palace fans are discussing whether or not their side should sign the Leicester City striker, Shinji Okazaki, this summer.

Okazaki was linked with a move to Palace in the January transfer window (The Independent).

And the Eagles could now land him without paying a fee, amid reports the Japanese will leave Leicester at the end of his contract this summer (The Telegraph.).

The prospect was brought to the attention of Crystal Palace supporters earlier this week.

And this is what some of them are saying on Twitter…

Leicester paid a reported fee of £10 million to sign Okazaki from Mainz 05 four years ago, and won the Premier League title in his first season at the King Power Stadium.

But the 33-year-old has only scored 19 goals in 136 games for the Foxes.

Shinji Okazaki of Leicester City arrives ahead of the FA Cup Third Round match between Newport County and Leicester City at Rodney Parade on January 6, 2019 in Newport, United Kingdom.

Crystal Palace are being tipped to sign their on-loan Swansea striker, Jordan Ayew, on a permanent £4 million deal this summer (The Sun).

Would an out-of-contract Okazaki be a better addition for Palace than a ‘£4 million’ Ayew?
