Crystal Palace have completed the signing of Naouirou Ahamada – now, the Eagles could also get their hands on Bright Osayi-Samuel.

What’s the story?

Well, The Athletic believe Crystal Palace have now wrapped up the signing of Ahamada in a £10.6m deal from VfB Stuttgart.

It signals the first business done by the south Londoners in what has been a very quiet transfer window for them so far.

Before the signing of Ahamada, Crystal Palace fans were told by Turkish news outlet Feneralayi that a £10m bid had been made for Osayi-Samuel, although that rumour had not developed any momentum since breaking.

Now, however, an interesting Instagram post suggests the Nigeria international has left Fenerbahce.

Michael Kraft, who worked as a coach alongside Osayi-Samuel at Fenerbahce before leaving in 2021, posted a temporary Instagram story last night wishing the 25-year-old good luck at his “new job”.

You can see his upload below.

It is certainly an interesting development, to say the least.

So far this season, Osayi-Samuel has made 27 appearances in all competitions for the Turkish giants, with most of those coming at right-back.

Osayi-Samuel & Ahamada represents good business for Crystal Palace

If the south Londoners do manage to add Osayi-Samuel to Ahamada, it would represent a shrewd end to the transfer window for them.

Going into January, Patrick Vieira’s squad was not in need of major surgery, with only a new central midfielder and a right-back needed.

Joel Ward and Nathaniel Clyne are too slow to suit Vieira’s preferred style of play, while the midfield department is lacking depth after Conor Gallagher returned to Chelsea and James McArthur battles injury problems.

Therefore, deals for Ahamada and Osayi-Samuel would help to ease both squad issues, while the pair are also young enough at 20 and 25 respectively to represents wise long-term investments.

Keep an eye out for Osayi-Samuel’s name today, as anything could happen before the 11pm deadline.
