Leeds United are linked to Emiliano Martinez.

Leeds United are hoping to tie up a deal to sign Arsenal goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez, report AS Argentina.

Martinez is on loan at La Liga side Getafe, but he has been second choice so far this season and made only three La Liga appearances.

Understandably Arsenal are not too pleased with this lack of action, and a move to Leeds would see the Argentine compete with unpredictable Felix Wiedwald in goal.

But could developments actually see Martinez better off staying put at Getafe?

This centres around Getafe’s number one goalkeeper Vicente Guaita.

Guaita is a target for Crystal Palace, with manager Roy Hodgson telling SkySports earlier this week that talks are ongoing.

The Evening Standard report Getafe are holding out for a fee of £7 million.

The goalkeeper’s potential departure to the Premier League would change everything for Emiliano Martinez, making him first choice.

Leeds are likely to be waiting for the result of Palace’s pursuit of Guaita before their move for Martinez can be sanctioned.
