Liverpool increased the capacity of Anfield recently, and Crystal Palace are hoping to follow suit.
Eagles chairman Steve Parish praised Liverpool for the manner in which they rebuilt their stadium, rather than just knocking Anfield down and starting from scratch, during an exclusive interview with the Croydon Advertiser.
Palace are looking to rebuild the main stand at Selhurst Park, in an effort to increase revenues that will subsequently enable them to compete financially with some of the bigger clubs in the Premier League.
The south London outfit are really struggling at the moment, and sit precariously in 18th spot in the table, three points clear of safety, so it will be vital for Roy Hodgson to keep them in the top flight, if they are to go ahead with the proposed plan of the stadium expansion.

Parish, 52, told the Croydon Advertiser how they plan to model their stadium development on Liverpool’s, after the Merseysiders increased the capacity of the main stand at Anfield:
“I think Anfield was a smart project. Why would you want to rebuild seats you’ve already got? You’re not going to get any more money for them. To just build new seats is more sustainable and you’re using less materials than building a new stadium, and you’re not trying to generate new income from things you’re knocking down and building again, which is very difficult. So I think it’s a smart development. It won’t be as big as the one at Anfield as their’s is bigger, but it’s an exciting one for us and we’re happy to learn from anybody.”
Next up for the Eagles is back-to-back home games against Bournemouth and Watford respectively in the Premier League, and they will be looking to take a minimum of four points from those matches, if they have any real hopes of survival this season.
