Tottenham Hotspur fans weren’t happy to see Nuno Espirito Santo leave Dilan Markanday out of his squad last night.
The 20-year-old attacker has emerged as one of Spurs’ most exciting youngsters.
He is still waiting on a senior debut but the fact that he has made squads for competitive games this season illustrates that he isn’t far away.
And with Tottenham hosting Mura in the Europa Conference League last night, supporters were expecting to see Markanday among the youngsters involved.
However, Nuno left him out of the squad and some Spurs supporters aren’t happy about it.
Where are Mura from?
Nuno’s side played host to the Slovenian champions last night.
The North Londoners were massive favourites and therefore you can understand why the Portuguese coach probably would’ve gotten away with using Markanday in attack.
But it’s worth pointing out that the young winger was also absent from Tottenham’s senior training this week, so it’s plausible that he’s simply injured.
Despite Mura being minnows, the Lilywhites still needed help from Harry Kane, who started on the bench.
A Dele Alli penalty had the hosts cruising inside three minutes but Tottenham – who had a second through Giovani Lo Celso in the first half – were stunned when Ziga Kous halved the deficit with a stunning volley.
But Kane came off the bench to score a hat-trick in the final half-an-hour.
