Liverpool fans criticised Chelsea for noting in their matchday programme how many games they have played since the November international break.
Prior to their win against Tottenham on Sunday, in the matchday programme, Chelsea had put up the stats of them playing 18 matches in all competitions since November.
That’s more than any other team, with Liverpool playing two games less than the London club and Burnley playing the least amount during that period (7).
There are many reasons for this, one being Chelsea competing in all competitions, including the Champions League, League Cup, FA Cup, and of course, the Premier League.
Added with the fact that some teams have also had games postponed because of COVID, with Burnley having five games in hand on some of the teams.
But Liverpool fans have mocked what Chelsea have done, as they are seemingly trying to make the point of fixture congestion.
There are some who have pointed out that this is what happens when you are fighting in every competition and that’s the whole point.
Added with that, others have shared how many players Chelsea have out on loan and how large their squad is.
One thing is for sure, Chelsea won’t get sympathy from a team like West Ham, who are also in Europe, still in the FA Cup and going strong in the Premier League.
They don’t have a large squad like Chelsea, yet they aren’t pointing towards the 15 games they have played since the last international break.
Either way, Liverpool fans weren’t sympathising with their title rivals and the number of games they have had to play during these last few months.
