Celtic fans have taken to Twitter to react after Jeremie Frimpong posted a tweet following his debut for Bayer Leverkusen.

The 20-year-old completed a shock £11.5 million move to the Bundesliga outfit towards the end of the transfer window.

Celtic made a handsome profit on their initial £300,000 investment in the right-back, although they will have been sad to see a promising prospect depart.

Frimpong made his debut for the German side yesterday in the DFB-Pokal, and it’s safe to say it was a bit of a nightmare.

The former Manchester City full-back’s new side were knocked out of the cup by fourth division outfit Rot-Weiss Essen, losing 2-1 after extra-time.

Frimpong only played six minutes, so he can’t be blamed too much for the shock defeat.

However, it won’t have been how the Dutchman wanted to start life at his new club, to say the very least.

Thankfully, his tweet after full-time was largely met with positive replies from the Celtic supporters who still follow him.

There were some crude comments, although it’s pleasing to see that most sent messages of encouragement to the ambitious youngster.

Let’s see what the Celtic fans have been saying in response to Frimpong’s tweet…
