Everton could welcome Dominic Calvert-Lewin back from an injury when Sean Dyche’s side hosts Brentford. The Bees visit Goodison Park in the Premier League this Saturday at 15:00.
That is according to Ben Dinnery, who reports that there is now a ‘strong possibility’ of the 25-year-old featuring. Dyche has been without Calvert-Lewin for Everton’s last five fixtures after sustaining a hamstring injury just one hour into his debut at the helm against Arsenal.
Calvert-Lewin had an outside chance of returning from his injury at Nottingham Forest last Sunday. But Dyche opted against risking the striker as the Reds came from behind to hold the Toffees to a 2-2 draw. But the forward is now truly in contention to return this Saturday.

Dyche will be desperate to see Calvert-Lewin rediscover his best form once Everton get the striker back from his injury. The 11-cap England international has only scored once through his 11 Premier League appearances so far this term. He has also started in just nine games.
Calvert-Lewin had already missed 10 of Everton’s top-flight matches this season with knee, hamstring and shoulder injuries under Frank Lampard. His start against Arsenal in Dyche’s debut game in charge was his fifth in a row. But he only reached 735 minutes for the term.

Everton star Calvert-Lewin must be desperate to put his injury horrors in the past
Injuries also ruined Calvert-Lewin’s campaign last season after suffering from a quadriceps problem on two occasions. The first injury forced him to miss 14 Premier League matches. He would only reach 17 appearances, starting 15, all season with five goals and two assists.
Rafa Benitez also saw Calvert-Lewin net three of his goals over three games in August 2021 before sustaining his injury. Lampard then saw the striker score his next – and last – two for the term in May. He struck against Brentford and Crystal Palace before assisting at Arsenal.
Dyche will now hope Calvert-Lewin can return from his injury and score when Everton host Brentford again at the weekend. The striker, who Chris Sutton believes is ‘crucial’ to Dyche guiding the Toffees to safety, sat out his side’s trip to the Bees which ended 1-1 in August.
