Rangers will be aiming to stop their bitter Old Firm rivals Celtic from winning the league title for the 10th year in a row in 2020-21.
Simunovic will not be part of the Hoops’ quest to clinch the championship next season, as the 25-year-old central defender has been released by the Glasgow giants.
The Croatian moved to Celtic in the summer of 2015, and won the Scottish Premiership title five times, and the Scottish Cup and the Scottish League Cup thrice each.
Simunovic believes that his former club Celtic will win the title next season as well.
Simunovic told The Scottish Sun: “I have left now but I am sure the rest of the boys will win the league next season and I will be happy for them.
“I am now a Celtic fan and I will be supporting them as much as possible. It will be different next season with Covid-19.
“Games are going to be moved and clubs will have to handle that. But I believe Celtic has the quality to win another league. That would make me happy.”
Celtic are favourites
Celtic have the best and strongest team in Scotland, and the Hoops will be considered as favourites for the title next season.
However, Rangers have a good side, and manager Gerrard will be determined to make sure that the players do not slip up in the second half of the season, like they have done for the past two campaigns.
