Tottenham winger Ivan Perisic has admitted that Croatia aspire to win the World Cup for Luka Modric.

Before the tournament, the Real Madrid legend admitted that the ongoing edition of the tournament was set to be his last dance at becoming a world champion (as per FIFA, via Yahoo).

The midfield maestro had cited that at 37 years of age, it was only natural that he could not partake in another World Cup after 2022.

And the likes of Perisic and Co. are just two games away from fulfilling Modric’s dream.

Coming off a heroic victory against Brazil in the quarter-final, Zlatko Dalic’s side should not be taken lightly as they prepare to face Argentina in the semi-final.

Alongside Luka Modric, Croatia boast the finest midfield in the tournament, also consisting of the likes of Mateo Kovacic and Marcelo Brozovic.

With other top players at their disposal such as Ivan Perisic himself, Josko Gvardiol, Dominik Livakovic and Borna Sosa to name a few, the Croatians can go toe-to-toe with any side in world football.

Tottenham star Ivan Perisic has told reporters that Croatia dream of winning the World Cup for the one and only Luka Modric.

“Cristiano [Ronaldo] couldn’t win it. Messi is trying with Argentina. We will give our everything to win the World Cup for Modric”, he said, as relayed by Madrid Xtra.

Considering many regard the veteran as one of, if not the greatest midfielder of all time, a World Cup medal would certainly go a long way in solidifying his legacy as arguably the best-ever player in his position.
