Cristiano Ronaldo’s sister Katia has hinted that retirement may be sooner than we expect.

Ronaldo is playing in his sixth World Cup at the age of 41 and has come in for criticism for his performances so far.

Many believe that this will be his last international tournament with his nation and it seems that date is closer than we think.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s sister reveals when he could retire

The Al Nassr hero has already made history by becoming the first player to score at six different World Cups but wants to end it by winning the biggest prize of them all.

In the past Ronaldo has hinted that he would continue playing until he reaches 1,000 goals but sister Katia Avero has admitted that he may call it quits this summer after hearing from a reliable source.

She told Portuguese media outlet Sport TV: “From the information I have, from a reliable source, I believe that this is the last dance, so let’s enjoy it.

“I believe it’s not today that they’ll say goodbye, but it’s coming soon. I strongly believe this is the farewell.

“So enjoy it a lot because it will be difficult to find someone after 200 goals. I’m talking about the Portuguese national team.”

Despite facing calls to drop him, Roberto Martinez has started the five-time Ballon d’Or winner in every game so far.

If they beat Croatia they will face Spain in the last 16 and could even go up against Lionel Messi and Argentina in what could be the ultimate showdown between two legends.

At club level, his contract expires in 2027 and there have been no signs to suggest that he will sign a new deal with the Saudi Pro League giants.
