Tottenham Hotspur’s hopes of a Gareth Bale return would be harmed by a big Cristiano Ronaldo transfer.

As iimprobable as it originally seemed, Cristiano Ronaldo appears to be heading towards a transfer to Juventus.

BBC Sport report a deal has been struck for the 33-year-old superstar to head to the Serie A side.

The Independent reported in May that Bale is open to a return to Tottenham and would consider taking a reduction in wages to make it happen.

Wales international Gareth Bale starred for Spurs until his world record departure in 2013, and his return would help Spurs challenge for silverware.

As far as Tottenham’s reported pursuit of Bale goes, it would be over in an instant.
