Tottenham Hotspur’s hopes of a Gareth Bale return would be harmed by a big Cristiano Ronaldo transfer.

As iimprobable as it originally seemed, Cristiano Ronaldo appears to be heading towards a transfer to Juventus.
BBC Sport report a deal has been struck for the 33-year-old superstar to head to the Serie A side.
There will be knock on effects, with Real likely to use the funds to sign new Galacticos.
But it does mean it is unlikely Gareth Bale will be permitted to leave, ending Tottenham’s hopes of a dream return for the Welshman.
Wales international Gareth Bale starred for Spurs until his world record departure in 2013, and his return would help Spurs challenge for silverware.

He proved his quality with a spectacular bicycle kick against Liverpool in the Champions League final, where he came off the bench.
Right after the game Bale sparked speculation over his future, insisting he is not happy starting games off the bench, and this led to links to Tottenham resurfacing.
If Ronaldo leaves, as speculated, then Bale’s chances of becoming a first choice starter are enhanced, and he could become an even better player with more freedom in a post-Ronaldo era.
As far as Tottenham’s reported pursuit of Bale goes, it would be over in an instant.
