Cristiano Ronaldo has built his career on extraordinary durability and physical conditioning.

For more than two decades, the Portuguese superstar has been famous for his strict routines, elite fitness levels and ability to avoid long spells on the sidelines.

However, his latest injury at Al-Nassr could represent a rare moment that raises questions about whether the 41-year-old is entering a more difficult stage of his career.

Al-Nassr manager Jorge Jesus confirmed that Ronaldo suffered a hamstring injury that forced him to leave Saudi Arabia to receive treatment.

Speaking about the situation, Jesus admitted the issue appears more serious than initially expected.

“After tests, we see the injury suffered by Cristiano Ronaldo was more serious than expected.

“Cristiano will now travel to Spain, like other players who went for treatment when they were injured. His injury required treatment in Madrid with his personal therapist, and we hope he returns quickly and helps the team,” he said, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Ronaldo will be sidelined for Al-Nassr’s upcoming match against Neom SC this Saturday. His team has a two-point edge over Al-Ahli on top of the Saudi Pro League table.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s rare injury could hint at new phase of his career

According to Transfermarkt data, the last time Ronaldo suffered a muscle injury that kept him sidelined for more than two weeks was back in 2019, during his time at Juventus.

Since then, he has managed to maintain remarkable fitness despite continuing to play at the highest level well into his late thirties and early forties.

That longevity has often been attributed to his famous training discipline, strict diet and relentless dedication to maintaining peak physical condition.

Yet injuries that were once rare can become more common as athletes move deeper into their forties.

With Jesus suggesting the current issue is more serious than expected, Ronaldo’s latest setback could represent the beginning of a challenging new chapter in the final stretch of one of football’s greatest careers.
