Yannick Bolasie left Premier League strugglers Everton in the January transfer window, signing for Belgian side Anderlecht on loan.
Well, it’s fair to say Yannick Bolasie chose the right time to score his first goal for Anderlecht.
The Jupiler League giants travelled to Royal Antwerp on Sunday with Bolasie making his first appearance for the club since making the shock move to Belgium on loan from Everton on the final day of the January transfer window.
And with the scores level at 0-0 heading into the 92nd minute, the Congolese flyer popped up at the far post in stunning style, towering above the Antwerp defence to nod home a dramatic winning goal, sparking wild celebrations on and off the pitch.
After a disastrous couple of years following his £28 million move to Everton, including a horror ligament injury and an ill-fated loan spell at Aston Villa, Bolasie really needed this.
So did his club. 2018/19 has been a disastrous season for Anderlecht but the result moved them up to sixth in the table and into the play-off places as they look to secure a return to the Europa League.
No wonder RSCA fans are queuing up on Twitter to pay tribute to their match winner on Monday morning.
